NUOVO CINEMA PARADISO (Tribute To Classical Egyptian Cinema) by @LanaSennawy
“It took me almost a year to collect this rare footage from Arab films between the 20’s and the 60’s. With the rise of Islamic Fundamentalism after the Arab Spring in 2011, extremists have been calling for a rupture with the past and censorship of our heritage. This is a reminder of who we used to be, and that one day we were capable of showing love rather than condemning it…
Inspired by Giuseppe Tornatore’s “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso” scene finale.

Life has taught me
Life has taught me that some things are better left unsaid, some questions are better left unanswered, some secrets are better left unshared, some words are better left unuttered, some fears are better left unshown, some memories are better left unremembered, some pictures are better left unhung, and most importanly, some emotions are better left unexpressed.

A Woman’s Poem vs. A Man’s Poem
A WOMAN’S POEM:
Before I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a man who’s not a creep,
One who’s handsome, smart and strong.
One who loves to listen long,
One who thinks before he speaks,
One who’ll call, not wait for weeks.
I pray he’s rich and self-employed,
And when I spend, won’t be annoyed.
Pull out my chair and hold my hand..
Massage my feet and help me stand.
Oh send a king to make me queen.
A man who loves to cook and clean.
I pray this man will love no other.
And relish visits with my mother.
A MAN’S POEM:
I pray for a deaf-mute gymnast nymphomaniac with
big tits who owns a bar on a golf course,
and loves to send me fishing and drinking. This
doesn’t rhyme and I don’t give a shit.
